Syria has experienced prolonged years of conflict, resulting in the displacement of millions of individuals, the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives, and driving the nation to a state of utter exhaustion. In this landscape of death and destruction, the voices of Syrian intellectuals provide solace and serve as a testament to a nation that should not be neglected. Among the most esteemed Syrian female voices on the international poetic stage is poet Maram al-Masri (Marām al-Maṣrī), originally from Latakia, who has resided in exile in Paris since 1982. Maram al-Masri’s poetry effectively connects Europe with the Arabic-speaking world countries. This article pertains to her poetry anthology, titled Elle va nue la liberté (Liberty Walks Naked), published in 2013. A thematic approach will be employed to discuss the work, identifying the predominant themes present within the texts, specifically freedom, love, and solitude exiles.
