In the framework of the modernization of the Spanish legal discourse, this paper focuses on two varieties of legislative Spanish: the one used in the EU, the eurolect, and the national variety. On the one hand, the drafting practices that characterize both legislative contexts are described; on the other, the linguistic relations between the two varieties are observed. The analysis is carried out on a comparable corpus of European directives, resulted from a translation process, and Spanish transposition measures, as the outcome of a rewriting operation.

Abstract
In the framework of the modernization of the Spanish legal discourse, this paper focuses on two varieties of legislative Spanish: the one used in the EU, the eurolect, and the national variety. On the one hand, the drafting practices that characterize both legislative contexts are described; on the other, the linguistic relations between the two varieties are observed. The analysis is carried out on a comparable corpus of European directives, resulted from a translation process, and Spanish transposition measures, as the outcome of a rewriting operation.File in questo prodotto:
