The DubTalk corpus is a collection of American and British films and TV series whose original language dialogues and Italian dubbed versions have been transcribed according to specific conventions. It also includes three gay-themed series: Queer as Folk, Queer as Folk (US remake) and The L Word. The proposed paper presents empirical evidence of different degrees of manipulation and censorship in the Italian dubbed dialogues of the three series, by focusing on sensitive expressions, such as those used to describe sexual orientation and sexual acts.
Il corpus DubTalk è una raccolta di film e serie TV britanniche e statunitensi, i cui dialoghi originali e dialoghi doppiati in italiano sono stati trascritti in base a specifiche convenzioni. Il corpus comprende anche tre serie a tematica gay: Queer as Folk, Queer as Folk (versione USA) e The L Word. Il saggio presenta evidenze empiriche di vari livelli di manipolazione e censura nei dialoghi doppiati in italiano delle tre serie, focalizzandosi in particolare sulle espressioni tabù e potenzialmente offensive, quali quelle relative all'orientamento sessuale e agli atti sessuali
