A poética do real de Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen desenvolve-se em redor de alguns elementos que caracterizam o universo literário da escritora: o mar, o jardim, a casa, a arte clássica e as paisagens noturnas. O deslumbramento perante a beleza do visível aproxima o ser humano da natureza e de Deus. Este trabalho aprofundará as referências que a poetisa faz, dentro da sua obra poética e narrativa, à fruta: ela pode desempenhar o papel de objeto ligado a recordações da infância, representar a simples beleza da natureza ou estabelecer metáforas na base de isotopias com objetos pertencentes a outros campos semânticos. Se na tradição ocidental alguns frutos, entre os quais as maçãs, são símbolos de tentação e luxúria, em Sophia são, ao contrário, um fator de religação com o ancestral, pleno possuidor de dignidade literária.

Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen’s poetry of the real develops around some elements that characterize the writer’s literary universe: the sea, the garden, the house, the classical art and the night landscapes. The amazement before the beauty of the visible, brings human beings closer to nature and God. This paper will focus on Sophia’s quotes of fruits whithin her poetic and narrative work.
