Indessicalità ed espressione dell'agentività per la costruzione del Sé nel discorso politico-istituzionale italiano in contesto internazionale

In political discourse evidence of a continuous process of constructing the self-image by using indexical signs and modulating agency may be detected. In order to describe cross-speaker variability to express the same genre-related moves, in this study we analyzed a corpus of 25 statements delivered in international institutional contexts by focusing on the agentive construction of each political Self. The methodology adopted is two-fold: a quantitative corpus-driven approach aimed at extracting indexical features and agency devices combined with the qualitative analysis of modulation of agency in speech acts. The contribution aims to: 1) outline the distribution of indexical signs and ethnopragmatic devices triggered by the frame itself; 2) interpret them in relation to the political Self-construction, either through speaker-dependent stylistic choices or context-dependent usages.
