If human geography is the history of men on earth and landscapes are the books that tell it, then the reading of the landscape does not only concern academics and scholars, but also men of schools of all levels. Reading the landscape then becomes a fact with strong didactic-educational implications and promotes the knowledge of the world, whether it is small and known, or vast and unknown. On these basis, a “landscape education” means promoting the development of the ability to observe carefully, to ask questions, to have curiosity towards objects and phenomena, in front of both exceptional scenarios as well as simple and everyday ones, to go beyond the most evident appearances, beyond the patterns of advertising images to grasp the potential inherent in the landscape as an opportunity for communication.
